You Are What You Eat!

Remember when you were little and you would hear the saying, “You are what you eat?” Well, it’s true in a sense. No, you aren’t going to turn into a huge walking pizza with arms and legs if you eat a pizza, or a walking bunch of grapes with arms and legs if you eat grapes. (Although, this would make a funny Halloween costume! ) BUT.. the way you eat makes you feel certain ways with your body and within your mind.

For example, you know when you are craving McDonald’s and you just can’t help yourself and you over eat every bite of that double cheese burger and french fries, while finishing it off slurping down a soda? Well, how do you feel afterwards? Your body feels exhausted and lazy, and your mind usually feels towards.. blah.

Here are some examples of foods that can help your mind and body both feel Ahhhmazing!!

Foods Rich In B vitamins

Especially B6 vitamins are a must for your overall well-being physically and mentally. Actually the B6 vitamin aids in the formation of neurotransmitters and raises the serotonin levels in your brain. It has been proven that low levels of serotonin in the brain lead to depression and migraines, so.. starting eating more foods rich in B6 vitamins!! Some of these foods include:

-Salmon, Bananas, Garbanzo Beans, Oatmeal, avocados, Chicken, Eggs, Walnuts, Peanut Butter, Turkey

Foods Rich In Fibers

Fiber is known to help regulate blood sugar and also can help those who have problems with constipation. Here are some foods high in fiber:

-Spinach, Kale, Fruits and Veggies, cabbage, black beans, flax seeds, wheat bread,

Foods Rich In Iron

Iron helps regulate cell growth in the body and also helps you feel energized and alive. Here are some foods rich in iron:

-White beans, beef, baked potatoes, fish, eggs, nuts, prunes, oysters, avocados,pumpkin seeds, all types of liver; green leafy vegetables, and prunes.
